Student Services

Developing happy learners is our priority. Student Support Service Staff are employed by the Region and work with families who have children faced with learning barriers to achieve their educational and developmental potential. The Student Support Staff can take school referrals. The staff work across a range of schools. We have a student support worker allocated to our school, and she is available to support families on a referral basis. Referrals can be made through the Principal. A referral must be completed by parents and is available from the office. Parents/carers must complete this form to access regional Student Support Service Staff.
The bus service is provided for the use of children who live more than 4.8 kms from the school. At the discretion of the Bus Coordinator, other town children may catch the bus if space permits. Applications for bus travellers will be called for at the end of the year. Bus travellers are to abide by the rules as set down in the Bus Policy. Every endeavour shall be made to advise parents if the bus, for any reason, is unable to run.
The Child FIRST program at Upper Murray Family Care is a centralised entry point for referrals and information about the support services offered within the local community. This information service is offered to families, community members, and professionals through our intake team. For families seeking more comprehensive support, our practitioners will listen to your story, provide information and suggestions where required and will guide you through the process of linking with the most suitable service tailored to your families’ individual needs.
Contacts: Individuals seeking support are encouraged to contact Child FIRST on 1800 705 211 to arrange an intake meeting or to discuss options available to your family.
